Release Notes 111
New Visual Exploration
This release contains a new version of the Visual Exploration experience that's been rebuilt from the ground up. The new experience offers seemless integration with the Block Editor and also improves the user experience significantly.
Existing Visual Explorations saved within NetSpring will continue to work using the older Visual Exploration experience and their capabilities are not diminished in any manner. However, all new Visual Explorations will automatically use the new experience. The old experience is not available anymore for creating new Visual Exploration analyses.
Inline Blocks in Explorations
Users can now define and use new block based modeling artifacts from inside an exploration template.
Exploration templates which support segmentation via the Segments section now offer inline blocks for cohorts and attributes. The listing for cohorts when you click on + Add Cohort now includes an Add Block option which allows a block based definition of a cohort to be used within the same analysis. The blocks defined in this fashion will not be accessible outside of the exploration template. The block editor experience is available to the left of the exploration template, see the documentation for the respective exploration templates for additional details.
Similarly for segmenting by attributes.
In addition to segmentation, blocks can be accessed (referenced) from inside most other points in the template as well, notably filters. Specifically, one can now filter on blocks in addition to filtering on catalog entities.
New Block Types
This release contains support for several new block types. See the documentation on blocks for more details.
New blocks include:
- Bin
- Intervals Engaged
- Moving Aggregation
